Every election cycle is important and has impact upon our quality of life. The 2024 election cycle, the choices have rarely been so stark. Of the two major U.S. political parties, one is led by a convicted felon who is committed to implement policies detailed in Project 2025 and Agenda 47. Policies such as slashing taxes for corporations and the wealthy, reversing policies geared toward climate action and environmental protection, destroying federal support for women’s rights, race & gender equality, mass deportations, withdrawing support for NATO, and continuing to appoint judges who are inexperienced and biased.

While we encourage you to register on the civ.works platform and support our work, there are other imperatives at present:

• Make sure your voter registration is current, and tell everyone you know to also verify their own status. There are multiple, well-funded efforts to remove people from voter rolls.
• Make a plan to vote and make sure your vote is counted.
• Your time and/or donations are vital. Please consider either directly volunteering or supporting candidates who fundamentally embrace democracy, justice, and equality.
• Support groups such as: Vote Forward, MomsRising, NARAL, Brennan Center for Justice, Fair Fight, Earth Justice, Public Citizen, Natural Resources Defense Council, 350.org, Emily’s List, Peace Action (Disclosure: Our founder is on the Peace Action Board), Media Matters, FAIR, Demos, the News Literacy Project, and the National Priorities Project.
• Write letters to the editor of your newspaper(s).
• Learn about societal imperatives such as climate action, wealth inequality, race and gender equality, and more.
